Here’s how C&A fits your child compared to other brands you might be considering, so you know before it’s in your cart.
Find your child’s C&A size on the left. Twins wear the same number the same way — your size carries straight over. Strangers use the same number but cut it shorter or longer, so don’t trust the label alone.

Sizes shown use C&A’s girls’/unisex chart where the brand splits by gender; boys’ sizes at the same number can run slightly taller.
Where the number just works. At 50, 56, 62, 68, 74, 80 and more, C&A lines up with every brand we track — the size carries straight over.
Where labels drift. The exceptions are the “strangers” above — e.g. at size 170, Molo cut the same number differently. Check those before you trust the label.
Bottom line: for most sizes, a C&A number is a safe bet elsewhere — measure once, then double-check only the handful of “stranger” brands above.

This is what parents report anecdotally — crowd sentiment, not a Little & Youth determination. Our sizing above is computed from C&A’s own published chart; the notes here come from public parent discussion.
C&A’s baby and kids’ clothes lean small in parents’ reports, especially in baby and toddler sizes. In German parent forums the most common advice is to buy a size up, with tops and bodysuits named most often and a few parents calling the cut narrow or short. It isn’t unanimous: a sizable minority say C&A fits as labelled, and an older Dutch thread about baby winter coats found them roomy, with sleeves to roll. C&A labels sizes by height in centimetres — its own baby guide says the size number is roughly the baby’s height and advises choosing the larger size when a measurement falls between two — and its kids’ ranges continue on the same ladder (boys’ sets, for example, are listed as ‘2–10 years, size 92–140’). Wash reports are mixed: several German parents say pieces shrink or lose their size, while others tumble-dry them without trouble. C&A’s web shops serve European countries only; there is no US shop.

It’s a height in centimetres. C&A’s baby guide says the size number is roughly your child’s height, and its kids’ ranges continue on the same ladder (for example, boys’ sets 2–10 years are sizes 92–140). For a US parent: 116 cm is about 45.7 inches. C&A advises choosing the larger size when a measurement falls between two.
No. C&A’s country selector lists shops for European countries only, and its English-language EU shop says it delivers only to Croatia, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia (mainland only). Delivery and billing addresses must be in the same listed country.
Opinions differ. Several German parents report items shrinking or losing their size in the wash, while others tumble-dry C&A without problems. Washing cool and air-drying is the cautious route.
C&A publishes height, chest, waist, hip in its size chart. Height is the primary driver, and the chest/waist figures let you confirm body fit for a child between sizes.
From the bigger sizes up, C&A publishes separate girls’ and boys’ charts, so the same number can differ by gender. The figures on this page use C&A’s girls’/unisex chart.
C&A’s socks are sized by shoe size, not age — buy for your child’s current shoe size, and if they fall between two ranges choose the smaller so the sock stays up. See how every kids’ shoe brand runs and how wide each is cut on our kids’ shoe sizing guide.
C&A is sold on its own site and through select retailers.
